Carthagena Cottage is a newly refurbished modern cottage situated in a tranquil rural position on a working beef and arable farm. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard and offers delightful accommodation perfect for families large or small. It is in an ideal location for exploring the North York Moors with some excellent walking and cycle paths right on your doorstep or you can visit the local brewery at Cropton village just two miles away that holds its own beer festival every year. If you want to travel slightly further you can enjoy the beautiful coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington. Only three miles away is the bustling market town of Pickering with the popular North York Moors Steam Train travelling to Whitby stopping off at the pretty villages of Levisham, Goathland (also known as Heartbeat country) and Grosmont which are all worth exploring along the way. Close at hand is Dalby Forest with excellent mountain bike trails, forest walks to explore and Go Ape assault course for all ages. Also within easy drive, children will delight in a visit to Flamingo Land Zoo and theme park. Pickering is a thriving town and hosts an arts festival, including jazz, classical music and theatre and a fun Wartime Weekend in October, there is something to entertain everyone in this truly interesting area.
